LE RAGAZZE PERDUTE
with text from The Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante,
Playtext: My Brilliant Friend by April De Angelis, and
Screenplay: My Brilliant Friend by Saverio Costanzo
A new Fonact production directed by Grace Andrews
PLYFA Space, Athens @plyfa.space, June 2026
Meet us within the restless pulse of '50s-'70s Naples, where Lenu fights to unravel her lifelong entanglement with Lila, her brilliant friend. Fuelled by rivalry, revenge, and devotion, they race from childhood to motherhood in a city alive with fierce contradiction, held up by a tragile community built on violence, ambition and brutal love.
Inspired by the Neapolitan novels of Elena Ferrante, this new piece from the Athens Fonact Ensemble explores how identity is made and unmade across generations of mothers and daughters in a world of men.

“How much of living is really just forgetting?”
This new piece of work brings together a collection of scenes from "Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel, and "The Brightening Air" and "Shining City” by Conor McPherson. Threaded together with music, poetry and dance, all three plays explore cultural memory, forbidden desire, belonging, and how ancient patterns live on.
